The Message Behind the Art: Holiday 2024 Window Explained - The Awakened Heart
As I was putting the finishing touches on our holiday window up last night, a charming couple from Seattle passed by and struck up a conversation with me. They were intrigued about the window and wanted to know what it all meant, so I thought I’d share it with you as well.
In essence: The eye and heart symbolize the broader perspective we gain when our heart and mind collaborate in harmony.
The two dancing figures represent the awakened heart that becomes accessible to everyone when we harmonize our left and right brain or merge the conscious and subconscious mind. It embodies the balance of light and dark, and dare I say, left and right?
Santa is present, observing it all, eager to share this gift with the world.
The disco balls send out this heart signal through their refracted light to anyone who passes by with an open heart and mind.
The stockings signify the mind-body-soul journey we are all currently on. I intentionally left them empty to create space for the gifts that will soon be received from this expanded perspective.
Santa stands in the corner, quietly holding the keys to this expanded state of being. His bag reads “Stay Weird Eureka.” Weird is just another way of saying Stay Real or Stay Authentic - being the most real version of yourself. Loving and accepting yourself unconditionally allows you to love and accept others - unconditionally.
I strongly feel that this authenticity is becoming the new currency of the world. It serves as the gateway to awakening to the true, expanded version of yourself. The version of yourself that has the ability to love and understand from a point of view of non judgement and understanding.
The lady from Seattle looked at me quietly for a moment then and said, “That’s nice, hun. Well, we have to go now.”
I laughed all the way home. I truly love living in Eureka Springs, and last night, that delightful and unexpected encounter with two wonderful, curious souls made me feel like a true local. How fortunate am I to express myself in this place?
Every day feels like a new adventure here, filled with vibrant interactions and the simple joys of connecting with others. It's these moments that remind me of the magic woven into the fabric of our everyday lives—the unexpected connections and shared stories that leave a lasting imprint on our hearts.
As I settled into the cozy comforts of my home last night, I couldn't help but reflect on how these chance encounters enrich our lives. They serve as gentle reminders of the beauty in diversity and the shared human experiences that unite us, despite our different backgrounds and stories.
Living here has taught me to embrace the quirky and the unusual, to see the world through a lens of curiosity, wonder and love. It’s a place where authenticity is celebrated, and each day offers a new opportunity to explore the depths of our creativity and the richness of our spirit.
I'm grateful for the people who cross my path and the stories we share. They inspire me to keep my heart and mind open, to continue seeking and exploring, and to find joy in the little things that make life so wonderfully unpredictable.
