Grow Original Acrylic 48" x 60"

I created this piece with the talents 20+ gay men from all over Texas last summer during a camping retreat. Everyone was invited to add their unique stamp to this collaborative piece.

I worked the whole weekend helping mold and shape this piece by adding my own elements as well. The piece started out as a loose canvas that was clamped to a backdrop stand. In between the weekends activities people would stop by and visit with me as the painted.

One I got back to my studio I completed the piece by hand stretching the canvas and then adding the giant "seedling" and hearts. This piece represents the fruits of many people during a fun filled weekend of spiritual exploration.

It has always been my intent to donate this piece to the right organization. It represents the beauty that comes from the creativity that lives inside of us all.

When the tornado hit my neighborhood in October I missed having both my house and art studio destroyed by 1 building. This piece became even more special because not only did it survive a devastating natural disaster but it has also acted as a beacon of hope for me.

I was without power at both my house and business for a week. I took this opportunity to help my neighbors by giving out food, water and hug. When I would come back to the dark studio this piece was there to remind me that I wasn't alone.

The hearts that are spilling out represent the love and hope of the future. No matter how bad things can get... there is ALWAYS hope.
