On August 8th, during the Lion’s Gate Portal, the moon rose above this 150-year-old Eureka Springs doorway. The Lion’s Gate, aligned with the star Sirius, is a time believed to open powerful energetic gateways for transformation and clarity.
At the same moment, Mercury was in retrograde, asking us to slow down, reflect, and listen more deeply. For me, this alignment felt like a personal reminder that every threshold (both cosmic and earthly) holds a choice: step through, or turn back.
This cyanotype was cured in the sun and hand-embellished with an acrylic wash over the moon and iridescent highlights to give it a shifting shimmer. At its center, a vinyl heart radiates within a gold-leafed sacred geometric star, symbolizing the heart as the truest doorway between worlds.
Framed and ready to hang, this piece is both a marker of that potent day and an everyday reminder that the universe speaks through ordinary moments, if we’re paying attention.
